Hey all degicanks
Clay and I (matt; ghostsurfer=matt) were discussing the potential new year's eve happenings. We are looking to organize a planet/ds/liveart/houseparty hopefully in the philly region. We need to find a venue, but if the recent chuck's and halloween convergences give any glimpse of the future, we certainly have the people power to make a memorable Auld Lang Syne for all. Let's get the ball rolling and spread some ideas of how to get everyone together for a musical new year's tradition!

Will an Airplane hanger near UPS by the airport suffice?
What's wrong with seeing other people play on NYE? I know, I know trey sucks donkey cock and the biscuits are waiting in line to give it a hearty attempt... let's just all go to A.C. and win big, right?

Chris, Scott and I did some recon a few months ago at Saigon Maxim in S. Philly.
This may be a great venue if not already booked.
But do we want to save this one for the DegIcank fest? As I recall, we are Penciled in for that date.

From what you described of the Saigon place, Scooter and I thought it sounded like a smidge too big for an NYE party, so maybe save it for DegiFest?
Im thinking that if we identified a venue by the end of the 1st week in December, that would give us JUST enough time to promote the idea to all of our friends. In seriousness, i think we should have a coherent plan (i.e. location) by end of November because people start making plans and then attendence would shrink. If we want to 'marshal the troops' we should do it early.
I want to check on that "lava"? place in West Philly where a lot of punk rock stuff has been happening (i think tis the alt place that fell through for Caleb when the P22 played at his house). Another concept might be the Rotunda, though this is a Upenn facility and probably wont work out.
I will also ask at the bike shop (a west philly meeting place) for ideas. Cost should not be a problem with our combined power (i know several folks who would shell out beanage to rent a spot if it were unianimously acceptable). I personally imagine a cosy spot (i.e. 100 people) with a nice stage and bar area....like imagine the Jazz Cafe...something big enough to fit our crew, but small enough to make it feel like a good crowd.
Dru has offered her house but it doesnt seem logistically feasible.
Keep ideas coming!! Royce and Sam will be the big guests of honor for this one!
