[glow=red,2,300]FYI:[/glow] It is believed by many that the roots of the Cyclops can be traced back to Pachyderm anatomy. Ancient peoples happened upon the skulls of rotting elephants. The bodies so badly mutilated by both scavengers and the surrounding environments, all that was discernable was their skulls. A massively calcified apparatus, made to hold the largest brain in the mammalian family, containing a singular oversized aperture in the front. Is it that hard to believe that relatively uneducated peoples could associate this skull with a man more massive than five normal men put together, with its only optical sensory being a great eye poised on the front of its colossal cranium.

Great Post! That's what this board is here for, learning and teaching. Kudos to PaleoCank! Did you see the movie, "Things are tough all around" by cheech and chong? Cheech sings, "My one Eyed Monster!" great Blues song.

I agree with degicank, I beleive this message system would work better if everyone left intreresting information they learned, instead of acting like bored captive monkeys-- throwing dung at any one that walks in front of their cage. kudos to you PaleoCank.

This is the first I've heard of a real cyclops, I know there are single celled and small organism with only one eye. I think what your seeing here is the orfice for a paciaderms trunk/nose. I think that all known mammels are born with 2 eyes... Living and prehistoric.

The sinister reputation of the Bermuda Triangle may be traceable to reports made in the late 15th century by navigator Christopher Columbus concerning the Sargasso Sea, in which floating masses of gulfweed were regarded as uncanny and perilous by early sailors; others date the notoriety of the area to the mid-19th century, when a number of reports were made of unexplained disappearances and mysteriously abandoned ships. The earliest recorded disappearance of a United States vessel in the area occurred in March 1918, when the USS Cyclops vanished.

Also don't forget the composition of the sea floor surface in this specific region. Being an area of nutrient upwelling this area of the ocean is filled with planktonic microorgansims. when these organisms die their calcarious remains fall to the sea floor creating a very fine sediment. (literally a liquid chalk) an Ideal location to lose massive objects such as planes and ships, if these heavy metal masses so happen to fall to the sea floor. the impact of their mass into to this "Liquid Chalk" would cause the grains below the mass to plume off to side and above, eventually settling again covering most of the mass. now combine this with the natural speed of deposition caused by these organisms and is not all that hard to understand how you could loss five planes in the late 1940 s. - An example of oceanic muds - A Coccosphere on of the fore mentioned planktonic microorgansims

Don't forget the teachings of the Necronomicon. And I don't mean the H.P. Lovecraft B.S. either. The real deal Necronomicon.
this book teaches us that the doorway to the next dimension is interlocked in our own make-up {our own cells and micro analasyt of these cells}. It's no wonder that scientists are just now discovering that our known universe is comprised of millions and millions of galaxies which extend in all directions seemingly patternless. Patternless is now in question as deep space probes and the hubble are showing us that they extend in double helix formations {the same shape as our own DNA}

Ixnay the atantalksay! Please keep all of these kind/kinD/kings of Theological and Politacal discussion in the TRASHTALKAREA. Many people feel uncomfortable discusing thology or polotics in public with friends they've just met. It is best to stick to neutral topics of conversation like "Where are you going?" "Where are you from?" TIME:ie."It's getting late, huh?" or "How about this weather?" Lets leave the Theological and political discussions to the experts in NY or DC or Luxemburg or Geneva or Mecca, or we can just talk about it in THE TRASH TALK AREA! ***WARNING PARENTS : YOU MUST BE 18 TO ENTER TRASH TALK AREA. PLEASE BLOCK TRASH TALK FROM YOUR CHILD BECAUSE OF ADULT CONTENT : YOU WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE IF YOU LET YOUR CHILD SEE THAT TRASH TALK************************
