Hey dere, 1st, the format of this degicrinkle server is interesting. Over at U.N.O. we got a differyoink style--all members is gonna get a daily email which contains (all posts) from that day's busy-ness. For instance, on a daily basis if 13 members make a post (regardless of da issue), all 60+ members typically get a single mass email which includes all 13 posts in a single text message. Of course, a member can opt to check the messages 1-by-1 at the site (ala degiKarl) , or to get messages 1-by-1 in typical email fashion...but the mass 'listserver' style seems to be most prevalent. Anyway, no content to this paragraph, simply commenting. Differences are good, thats why we've got the Democrats v. Republicans, right? (heh heh). ANYWAY--here's de point. Vortmang and myself distributed the 100 cds Josh sent us to PA people over the course of about 3 phish shows. I made an especial point of demanding to know what state fans were from, so as to avoid tossing endless cds into a sea of multi-state (potential) fans. I rationalized that conquoring single areas, then later expanding the conquest, is the key to winning at Risk, and therefore to degiDominance. Thoughts? Also, how would one set out to acquire more cds for distribution? I would gladly hype the upcoming Philly and Harrisburg shows, except that our burner, (4x speed) can only pump out about 10 discs a day, and thats if i stay home and attentive for several hours. If more CDs are ready and available, i'd gladly do it. However if not, i may try flyers on the day of the show as a means to getting some heads in the audience. Temple campus and Penn are ripe with aliens. thoughts welcome... Mr. Claybob
PS. Woosta and Philly Phish were rawkin, thanks for askin

Thanks so much. I don't know right now how to get you more cd's, I've got 8 blanks I'm going to use for EconocankIII (very limited edition), but I can't get a job that lets me leave for 1 or 2 weeks per month, and My sponser is starting to have a hard time keeping us above water. Especialy with 100+$ per month in travel expenses to join p22. I'm hoping we get our act together soon and we can send you some discs. I am only 1/5th (less if you ask James) of p22. I really want to reward your good work and keep you going. Perhaps one of the more affluent members of our band would consider sending you a bundle of promo cd's. We are going to the studio in Jan 2003 so we should have some new stuff for you by Feb.
I think the targeting you did(by state) is a great start. I wouldn't worry about our advice too much, It sounds like you've done more for the band then anyone else in the band. Use your best judgement.

I may be able to get more CDs together, but it'll be a week or two (almost the date of the shows already).

"Hey guys!" (as Eli says on the unobop tapes): Anyway dont anyone worry about the extra cds--the 100 delivered to cinci were MORE than enough. (Wanted also to mention i got positive feedback from a non-initiate at the NC phish show, three days after i delivered a cd into his hands at the philly show. He's a 100+ phish fan and also a big Bisco kid, so at least he's heard music before. He was like, "YO, P22", wide-eyed and grinning. He was serious. I think he liked it. I was glad, cause i think the abstract stuff appealed to him. Back to the point of this thread-- DONT sweat the discs. I'll work on it on the old 4x speed. I'll have to target the right people to achieve maximum headiness with a super limited number of copies. As for the Fire, Thursday night can be a hard sell in a city as big and spread out as philly, but it'll have to be done. I guess i just assumed that when Vort and i roll up in a hotey and there's a delivery of all dese CDs, i figured this is like a typical thang for the degidistribution team. Perhaps i was being an idiotic pimpbrain. Perhaps i was eating my own ass with ketchup. But i liked standing in the middle of shakedown yelling, "HEY WHAT FREAKIN STATE ARE YOU FROM?!" with Vort. I'll try to talk to Benjy Eisen about hyping the Harrisburg show. (a jamband writer from that area and good friend to the scene).
On an irrelevant note: If anyone knows anyone who wants to live in west philly, we're in need of another roommate. Big, nice house, big private bedroom, $300 a month. Got the 25 day notice from one of our crew today. The typical day in our house involves food, school/work, words, computers, music, occasional combing of dreadlocks. Spread the word around if you know anyone.....

Hey, Totally unrelated to this thread, but i dont like starting NEW threads for every message:
If anyone knows anybody looking to move into Philly in the near future, we here at 5034 Uno Ave. Are looking for a new roommate. Big private bedroom, closet, extremely nice house, hardwood floors, 1.5 bathrooms....$300 per month plus utilities. 3 extremely nice and fairly responsible roommates, varying from pharmacists to dozing individuals, with Clay, myself, stuck in between. I personally find myself to be anal and annoying, which is the biological cause of my dredlocks. Seriously.
Seriously, if anyone knows of potential roommates, please let me know....
thanks!!

Hey guys, this is Chris Millet. I've got an industrial strength CD/DVD duplicator at work. I could crank out 200 CD's at a time in a few hours. I can also print labels directly onto the CD (although you'll have to buy my ink cartridges). I did some discs for Harvey Controls that turned out really nice..

Chirs,
That is an amazing rsource. What type of cd surface do you need to print on? What is the specificaatoin of the ink so I can look it up on the net? Maybe you'd want to get it with a 10% markup we pay in advance?
very interesting indeed!

Perhaps degicank can come down with wav data or high quality CD masters of Planet 22 shows that aren't widely circulated. Econocanks are great but Planet 22 mass production should be of the highest quality. Let the fanbase burn and trade mp3's.

tell me what show you want I'll bring the wav data. Thats why I'm making econocanks so you folks can pick what is best, the band will obviously have a biased opinion...

Degicank, you've heard the material and know the quality of performance and sound. What I would like is something (the more the better but you don't want to bloodlet the vault quite yet!) that has about a 90% sound and at least 65% performance rating out of a possible 100%. Say like chucks 98 but post 2000, five piece with loud McCoy on Boards

I just need CD's with white surfaces... As for ink, I'll get you the specs on the cartridges..
And YES, the Crowbar thing went through! FINALLY! April 30th is the date. I'll post with better details soon, but the lineup is Groove Affliction, Planet 22, Revisor (formerly Metagroove). Quigley wants to spin, so I was thinking we could do interlocking sets with each band segueing in and out of the DJ, no breaks in music until closing time.
I'm emailing Chuck now. Hopefully he doesn't change this again...
