Hey Guys! I just wanted to ask you all to keep your ears open for musical projects that want to be part of an underground music network. Basically, it is a network of bands helping each other by spreading the good word in their hometown to their home crowd whenever a band from the network is playing in their area, and then the favor gets returned. It helps bands who are trying to tour but can't pull a crowd because no one knows who they are too far away from home.
The network is free to be a part of, and a website will be rolling within days/weeks. The website will also serve as a gallery of music from the bands, and will make it easy for people to find good music no matter what part of the state/country/world you live in. There will also be a listners forum for people to comment on the bands and shows.
So, I'm calling it Hear-This Networks cause its for bands that need to be heard...I've seen enough good bands give up and work at Denny's because no one came to their shows. So, if you know any bands that need help spreading their music, etc, let me know. You can email me at EliasGwinn@Hear-This.net.

. I have moved on from fall tour (way too late to get into serious venues). I am setting up contact with all these venues (including various city and university funded events) from the platform of Hear-This Networks, and they are eating it up. I don't even mention Planet 22 because P22 is just one of hundreds of bands working with us (in the future). I am primarily setting up communications with venues which our company would like to pursue business engagements with in the future. After I line up bands for the Network, I'll use that leverage to book the spring tour . I guess it's up to you guys to decide if that is best for your budget, time, future, etc. I will be contacting the south-east soon. I think they are a little bit more relaxed on booking down there...not sure though. But one question I ask every venue I talk to is how far in advance they book. Any venue that is not booked up for October-November, I'll mention a band which is part of the Network that will be in the area and will have a few days off from their fall tour, and perhaps we can set something up. So a fall tour may not be out of the question yet, but we'll have to see. A real Team Player who asked Josh Caleb and Joe not to call anyone about Fall tour because he was a big boy now and would be setting it up. He explained that he knew how to do it by telling the venues the more you pay us the more "hear this" will spend on advertising. This effectively shut us out from the venues contacted. He changed the phone# on press kits from Josh's celly to some # that doesn't get through to anyone, he told Joe he had addressed press kits ready to mail on wedsday that never went out (3 weeks ago), he would not answer repeated requests to let us know which of the contacts we set up for him he had called so we would know which bridges were burning, he sent out e-mails to all band members and 4 nonband members but forgot to include Jack, he refuses to let us have a copy of 3 planet 22 songs after repeated requests, he told us in febuary that the album would be done by tonight but it wasn't done by the time we went out west in June, and now he tells us how during the calls he asked us to let him handle he forgot to mention the band that gave him the contact info and framework. Good Luck to the hundreds of bands with "Hear This" I guess Deg I Cank Founded in 1999 is Spacely's Sprockets, and "Hear This" is Cogswell's Cogs.

Look Joe, I don't know why you want to start a bickering match, but I don't want anything to do with it. You fired me, and I'm cool with it. Now I'll do my thing, you do yours. But there's no need to take this personally. You're a big boy now. Move on.
I don't want it to go down like this, you know? My successes and failures always were with the best intentions. I'm learning, and I can't pretend like I'm not learning. But regardless of business, I don't want to get in some bickering match with you. It's stupid, and I wanna keep on good terms with my friends, no matter what.
As far as my past shortcomings...well, sorry dude. I guess my 2 months in this business haven't exempted me from imperfection. But, just in case I'm wrong, and you seriously feel I've wronged you, I'll clear up these matters (the ones in your post that actually have substance).
-I was not the band member who decided that I should move on to Spring Tour while everyone else worked fall. Maybe you should check your pants before you're convinced you only farted.
-It takes professionals, who have $$millions of resources at their disposal, at least 8-10 months to finish producing an album. I never thought I'd finish the album in weeks, I told you I'd have the proofs within weeks, and I was a few (2-3) weeks late. I told you I'd get the album mixed before tour. I was too optimistic with that as well (5.5 months to finish 50 minutes of pieced together mistakes? Sorry.) I never said I'd master the album because I have no mastering software.
-Never refused to give you your 'song', Joe. Whenever I seperate it from the other material that's on it, you'll get it.
-Didn't mention Planet 22 on my initial calls to venues because it would have appeared I was calling for strictly for the band, when I was calling for the Network, which proved much more receptable on the other end. Their was no need to mention a band that was 2.5 months late in booking their fall tour unless you want to make them look unorganized.
-For reference sake... You said you would set-up a VT tour in Febuary and you're finally calling them in September. No need to criticize you, so I never did.
So chill out dude. I'm not competing with you, or Deg I Cank or anybody. I don't even know what Deg I Cank does, except play around in the VFW once a year. That would be hard to compete with...good thing Hear-This is nothing similar to that. So just relax, have fun, you know, like it used to be before you guys started getting so upset about this stuff. Don't forget, it's not you, it's music.

Very appropriate that i make my triumphant return to Planet 22's message board to find Eli Gwinn back stabbing, lieing and discrediting himself with each word he posts.
1) Eli, you told planet 22 you would have a professionally mastered studio album. You told them that you would master it so planet 22 would avoid the charges of some guy sitting around getting paid to save files. you have failed to produce a product and what is your response? an outright lie.
2) Your little B_ullS_hit attempt to defraud your own brothers out of years of ground laying efforts will fail. I will personally make sure of it. You don't just treat Deg I Cank anyway you feel like treating it. How dare you use Deg I Cank compiled contact info and resources to try to furthur yourself. your little 432 fags may be cheering you on but what do they know? They know that eli gwinn is the heart and soul of Planet 22, they know that eli gwinn organizes chuck's farm they know ... nothing.
As of right now you have been partially blacklisted from any Deg I Cank events. Subsequentially Hear-This Network has been copyrighted and registered by Degicank, Inc. Degicank, Inc. will be looking for any enfringments of said copyrighted Production/Promotion company and will pursue any and all infringments of said name to the fullest extent of applicable laws.
Don't F_uck with the Cank, it doesn't need it it doesn't like it and it won't accept it.

Listen, I don't care what planet 22 does, they are a great band and truthfully I love thier music more than most people who are playing music and still breathing, but when you bring DEG I CANK into this, that is when you gots to BACK THE f*** OFF! I don't get REALLY pissed off about many things, but when a little kid who tries to hide behind his wisecracks and pretend he knows what he is doing disses on the DEG I CANK festival that is when I raise HOLY HELL. You don't know shit you little piss ant. I worked WORKED hard for deg i cank and the little nowhere nobody VFW. It is the only true thing that happens once a year that I know of. Not to mention it is one of my very good friends birthdays. So don't f*** with DEG I CANK. Furthermore, I would like to appologize for my un-ruly behavior, but it is true, you have been slacking off, you don't do what you say you are doing and i don't really give a rats ass. You think too much and care too little. You don't understand that success is not what you do it is how you do it. I am a liar. I am not right to be telling you these things, but then again somebody has to. So from one hipocrite to another... if you diss degicank again, I'll bury you motherf_ucker. PEACE.

But I guess I should run it by everyone first to make sure we're all in consensus. I've attached the cover sheets I'm using and you've all heard the music before, so you should be able to make a fully informed decision. Let me know...Eli
btw, I'm mastering the studio discs now, so if someone could pick up on copying bootlegs for me, it'd be wonderful.

hey guys! I'm sorry if your feelings have been hurt. I know my non-profit music network seems like a huge threat to all the great work James has done for Deg I Cank, but I will personally see to it that nothing will be done that might undercut my friends, because I know that the great people of Deg I Cank wouldn't do that to any of their friends either.
CHRIS CANK, from Joe: "I guess Deg I Cank Founded in 1999 is Spacely's Sprockets, and "Hear This" is Cogswell's Cogs." I never mentioned Deg I Cank until Joe decided he wanted to compete against me. I still have no interest in that, but he's up in VT fighting a lonely battle with himself so I guess there's nothing we can do. The VFW fest is great, and that is why Deg I Cank takes care of that and Hear-This doesn't. I also understand Deg I Cank puts out collections of music, art, and literature for the underground community, and therefore, Hear-This does not need to. Hear-This is strictly for networking underground bands across the country. SO WHAT IS MAKING YOU GUYS SO WORRIED??? Just relax and have fun, people. It's not too hard if you can understand that this isn't about you or degicank or me or hear-this, its about helping good music and good art succeed.

Eli, You fired yourself from the band, remember? Don't contact the collegian, especially if you even think you could slip in "hear-this" at all. Don't request anything for Planet 22 or offer or take it apon yourself to "help" Planet 22. Your'e out, so you either absolutely leave Planet 22 alone (Deg I Cank terrotory a_s_s_h_o_l_e) or you get the four band members approval before you do anything. Yes, you'll have to track down jack everytime you wish to "help" Planet 22. The count is back to 2 gwinns 2 cankians so a majority is needed to win a decision not the olagarchy. New posters have been commisioned dipicting the four members of planet 22 flying through degicities and the artwork for chucks is being modified depicting the four members.

ELI Don't listen to James. I'm pretty sure i can't fire people from the band, But even if I could I haven't. I don't think your position playing live is in any peril. When I said I'm through doing bussiness with you I meant with "hear this". I don't want you using the resources I gotten together for Degicank and Planet 22 and then forget to mention p22. You said you would book the fall tour and you didn't, so i don't trust you to do any booking anymore. If you book a show Great take your %, charge us rental fee for your equipment or whatever you want, but We can't relie on something that you are going to do, because so far you haven't done anything you said you would do... Ie:Album fininshed by summer tour :STILL WAITING BOOKING FALL TOUR: "forgot to mention p22" Learn how Join Us Goes: still waiting Learn the songs before we get into studio: Not done
I wouldn't fire you, just your fingers that play 5ths and minor 3rds regardless of the tonal quality of chords everyone else is playing(ie:major), and your fingers that have to be playing a note even if the note is already covered and everything is getting muddy because of your 2 handed 10 note chords. so try using 3 or less fingers on each hand and throw away your sustain peddle.

if possible try to cut down on the really high pitch notes as well. I cant stand that high pitch screaming sound that never ends and to my ears is the loudest thing coming from the band.
