Very constructive. A spectacular festival just occured and all anyone wants to talk about is bad mouthing Alchemy. You know, there were tons of bands who were all really awesome including alchemy. How about that Daily Supplement?!?! I think anyone who lives in State College should be very happy for such a great band to take up residency here. How about Red Rocket!!! They really blew up some classic red rocketness did they not? Absolutely fabulous show. And lest we not forget Planet 22! Flaming hoop and all!
P.S. Anyone interested in doing some pre planning for next years?

Time Reversal Signal Processing Scholar Team Advisor: Dr. David Farden
Desired Team Size: 10, this work would benefit from all levels of student experience, freshman to graduate.
Time reversal signal processing techniques have been applied to undersea communications, lithotripsy (blasting kidney stones), and improving communications in severe multipath wireless networks, amongst other applications. In various communication systems, time-reversal signal processing is a method of obtaining measured data which is then used in various ways to improve system performance. It involves sending a signal over the channel in one direction, receiving and recording the signals at each sensor in a receiving array, then transmitting a time-reversed version of the received signals. Consider a multipath channel between one transmit and one receive sensor. The frequency response of this channel is frequency-selective, since different paths have different delays so that as the frequency is varied, alternating constructive and destructive interference from the different paths is observed. Now, with multiple receive sensors distributed over at least several wavelengths in space, the frequency response of each channel between a single transmit sensor and each receive sensor will be different. If there are enough paths (scatterers) and the array is large enough, then the time-reversed signals transmitted back through the array will result in a well focused field (in both time and space) at the single originating sensor. Modeling, simulations, experiments, hardware, and theory investigations will begin by studying acoustic signals in buildings. Imagine two people conducting an error-free conversation across a crowded noisy auditorium. Applications using ultrasonic waves, underwater acoustic waves, and radio waves are all possible.

I believe that it takes more than one man to run this festival, and yes, while having a figure head such as a director is a splendid idea, nothing will ever get more organized if people don't work together and take up more positions. AND, if people don't plan ahead of the festival. Everything should be ready to go by the end of June, all booking should be done by May, and the staffing issues, such as who is going to do booking, lighting, sound, publicity, parking, recording, stage hands, stage building, facitlities staff, ect. should all be worked out no late than march!
So I second the Professor! but we are going to need the island's help if we are ever going to get that Mothership to land!

I will handle all internet operations at this time and for the chucks farm.
I also propose a degi board meeting sometime this month to propose my business plans for 2005.
I like the team idea, but I would like to see a figure head to put the peices together and keep people from argueing about small details.

I agree with B, we all need to look at what we want to accomplish with Deg I Cank for this new year. I will come up with the annual report for 2004 and present it at this meeting.
I propose degicank board meeting for Monday, Dec. 20th. How does that sound with everyone? Lets figure out the best possible time for everyone.

lets all face reality here, only joe (from the list of people who have responded here) has added a helping hand as far as behind the scenes/pre-planning chucks farm is concerned.
B Dilly has been heavily involved with the video and archiving aspect of the last few years.
Degijames has beared 90% of the brunt of the last two years (remember him not leaving the stage until Planet 22 began playing friday night? Or how about him handling those guinn friends (josh clary band) when they show up on saturday night at 9:30 to play at 11!!!) because they were "confirmed" by "someone".
Anyway this is not a pissing contest; but one man/woman is needed to head the team which is always talked about but never exists, for chucks.
Dave would be a good choice but he's busy working to keep himself flat broke and starving. Kelleher would get the nod but he looses focus on just about everything 11% of the way through it (remember bandwidth? for those of you who don't it was a two issue look into chris' sexual fantasies; issue one featuring dru poetry slams and issue two revolving completely around fitcho)
who said Kirk? Very wise man, level headed, finger on the pulse of society AND music. He has too much common sense to even think about heading up chucks farm...

Listen, James, if you want to put down people and the work they do, then do it, I don't really care. You f***ing loser. I am sick and tired of you trying to be so "controversial" on this message board. I put a lot of time and effort into those two publications, which included alot more work than just Kristen and Dru. I sick and tired of you complaining about other people. Many of us have spent a lot of time and money every year on Chucks. At least i have a job that i don't quit ever other week and go gallavanting off like a nineteen year old. Oh, and you did such a good job with chucks this year that you booked Borderless Puzzle on Fri., yet you told them to come on Sat. where there wasn't any room. Joe had to call josh and make a personal appology for your folly. So James, I have an idea, why don't you finally confront Joe and tell him how in love you are with him and maybe he will leave his wife and child and you and he can go off to California together. I highly doubt that fantasy of yours will ever come true, but hey, give it try, you never know.
