Administrator: you need to start a Player Haters board.
This is f'n ridiculous, all this weak-sauce hate. If you have a fresh idea that will make Chuck's 2005 better than in past years then get it out there but get past this playground bull$hit because you're making a fool of yourself.

oh, goodie the trash talker is at it again. let's see, can i anonymously post some oh-so-sophisticated BS so I can feel better aobut myself? phish, sadly, can't make it to chuck's, but i've heard trey anastasio is taking applications for pre-show fluffer. go for it dude! but you must be one hell of a musician to be able to criticize like that! wait, is that you yngwie? trey? shut up or lay down some sick music and then you can talk all you want. and enough of that. but it's so easy! and i feel so much better now! to anyone who is actually posting useful content, keep it up and stay positive, and keep in mind, any negative comments aimed at someone specific have nothing to do with CHUCK or music or art or fun or the whole idea of the chuck's farm phenomena, or anything at all besides that person's own injured little ego. I least i hope that's true, i don't know becasue i'm a stupid newbie. and since apparently i don't have enough degicank/hippie cred to offer suggestions, this is one newbie who will not be volunteering, helping out, or offering anymore posts. good luck. thank you and good night.

Chuck has spoken. No contract talk please. Borderless puzzle is an awesome band. I do hope the newbies are ready to show up the weekend before and thursday before Chuck's to dig shitters. Don't get upset about bad words here, they won't hurt you. Planet 22 will be playing in 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, and 15 over 4, and proble some good 6/8's. We're aiming for some new polyrythyms and the old standard 10/4 over 1/4 110 beat p0lyrythym. We will probably start in A as we have each year. The time available will determine the next key. When it is flaming hoop time we will of coures be playing g and g#. Directly after the hoop will be the drum breakdown where we will finally get every hand drummer in the place going at once. Hopefully we will be jamming out the new material from album 3 before the hoop, and classic jams (ie: master, etc.) later...

What do you guys think about coming over to Panther Country on a date in August and help set stuff up, rebuild stage, landscape maintanence, create the long awaited crappers, ect, ect?
I will be providing kegs from our local Otto's brew haus and what not.
I think it would be a good idea to get things set up well in advance, so there is less work to do the week of the fest.
I would also like to organize an outing in July to do some preliminary organization and clean-up.
Any takers?

Why the hell should band members be cleaning Chucks up? Bands, their members and crew should be treated like gold!!! All the people that come to chucks every year and trash the place should be cleaning it up, not the bands!!!
Of course band people that help clean up are greatly appriciated, like Calib, who I've seen year after year cleaning up after everyone else. The one year he filled that shields bus up with trash and hauled it off all by himself.
Lets Identify what needs to be done at chucks. What are the problem areas, that get trashed every year? What are issues that we've had consistantly throughout the years? What do you want done Chuck?
I think its been fairly consistant that the stage and heart shaped fire pit has definatly been one of the most hard hit spots year after year.
I would propose that we get about 10-20 55 gallon drums to dump trash in. Place them in the problem areas. Recruit people with pickup trucks to designate their bed of their trucks for dumping purposes.
And I've heard enough of this newbie crap! I've been going to Chucks for almost 20 years now, when most of you were still in diapers! So quit it with this newbie BS~!

Ernie- I've already been discussing the 55 gallon drums with Chuck the other day. Do you know where to get any? I think the problem I see is getting people who are not already involved with a band to help out. The only people I know are band members and I know they want to help.
Anyone know of a good way to get the random chuck's fest goer who does most of the trashing and then leaves to help out with clean-up or any other task?
I think one thing that we have tried to do in the past somewhat successfully, is to have parking as organized as possible and hand out trash bags as people come in. One for recycling, one for trash. And maybe a program describing event line-up and have more instructions on the program about being concious of one's own trash, especially by the fire and stage.
Any more ideas? Any one want to get a parking crew together while we're at it?

The only concern I can see with the 55-gallon drums are the experimental young minds that might like to curl up in them and roll down the path from the bus to the parking lot. Sounds like fun, actually

Over the last few days I have been thinking about the relationship between velocity and acceleration. My family and I went to Philadelphia to introduce our daughter Ava to her relatives there. When you travel into Philadelphia from the west on Chestnut St. the traffic lights are timed so if you are traveling at an average velocity of 30 mph you will “hit” every light. Once you have reached the velocity of 30 mph you have to try to maintain an average acceleration of 0. If you have a loss of velocity your acceleration will be negative and at the next block you will be stopped at a red light as the red lights go down the line of streets in descending numerical order. If your acceleration becomes positive you will “catch up” to the red lights. You have to consider the velocities of other cars, if you get have to decelerate you will get caught in a red light. In this example the acceleration and velocity should be constant: a=0, v=30mph The funny part about this stuff is if you used the map of Philadelphia on one axis you travel from 63rd St. to 30th St. through these timed lights. If you go by the numbers you will be traveling one dimensionally on a negative vector. Lets keep Chucks farm on the positive vector, the moon and sun travel in ascending order of the streets in Philadelphia. As far as 24 hour bands, sounds awesome, you don't need a sound man or elabrate organizational management hierarchy to turn your guitar amp on and jam. You don't need a huge beuracracy to do jams to the sunrise, it has happened each year I've been out there...for playing drums, no clocks needed.
