since when was chucks about planning? can you really plan a religous event? music will happen regardless of the time slot. even the trees know that. listen.

wow rocco, that was really deep. your input really helps everything out. I see the light. Let me ask you a question, why do you have such a problem with embracing change? Comparing this chuck's to the last? A tree knows of change as well. A tree never stays the same, every moment of every day a tree is different from what it once was...for better or worse.
As we all are. So why not create and plan on creating? Why not come together for a grand design of what is to come. Whatever is invisioned is truth...for better or worse. Heck, what else are we gonna do? Sit on our ass and play video games?

i agree with rocco. the trees do have a lot to say. music will happen. But... religion? Sounds like a dirty word. Like legion. Like large groups of power. Like large groups of mindless blindness souless spirits dancing in the ethereal and forgetting the roots. Remember the roots. Put your ear to the earth rocco. Put your ear to the earth.

Dealing with anger and returning to peace
Senario: An important event is upcoming and it doesn't look the way you pictured it.
When something like this happens the easiest way to #1 get what you want and #2 maintain and possibly spread peace is to first take a step back. Ask yourself, "what about this situation is making me so mad?" Write down your answer i.e. we really want to have chuck's farm be a special event for us and these loosey goosey fools are messing it all up. The next step is to ask yourself, "how does this make me feel?" i.e. I feel angry. Next look behind the anger i.e. I feel so mad really because I feel helpless in the situation like I can't do anything about it. So what is the bottom line about that? "I feel like I can't do it or I can't do it".
So far we have gone from "these loosey goosey fools are messing it all up to I can't do it". Pretty big difference so far. Let's see how it turns out:
Staying with that place that feels helpless because "I can't do it" open your heart and begin to send love to that place. Really care for that place. Hold that place. Continue to do this until that sad feeling is washed with the love and you feel content.
So what is happening is a senario is being sent to you that is triggering an old wound you are carrying in your subconsious. By going through the above process you can track into yourself and heal that wound. When you do this the wound will be removed to reveal another aspect of your true self that has been blocked. The blockage is manifesting on the outside as anger. With that aspect uncovered I am sure the above senario will either work out like you wanted or you will feel a deep peace about whichever way it winds up turning out. It usually happens this way that we get cornered with something that is really important to us and "the one" who is looking over us gives us a chance to learn more about ourselves and a chance to heal ourselves. All we have to do is take a minute to sit down and reflect.
Anger is just a way of showing us that there is more available to us. So rather than react and get caught in the anger, for the sake of love, it is better to heal whatever is causing the reaction inside of us and proceed with love. If you do it enough you will find life gets a lot less angrier.
We as true musicians owe it to the love that empassions our hearts to fly with the songs to heal the anger and to grow in peace. We need to be united like one hand for the sake of peace. The minute we let the anger catch us we fall and if we persist we become the actual soldiers for the darkness. We also must remember that this music is a gift and to not mishandle it.
I was at Chuck's long before Planet 22. It is not a short history for this event though its care has changed hands from generation to generation. It is about coming together to celebrate peace, love, and freedom. So take your chance and see.
Ben

I didn't appriciate the kick to the balls I got a couple of years ago after I setup my computer controled dynamic light system and some jerks decided that it was taking away from their show and shut it off without even consulting me or anyone else about it.

All this negative energy and bad memories. There is going to be an amazing good time taking place in two weeks. I really can't wait. A friend of mine told me he is bringing a pig to roast, and this time he'll make sure the cooker works. I have another friend that will hopefully be quite helpful in acquiring a large tent. To unveil the new "Jazz Tent" complete with cocktails and all the metropolitan flavors you find in a cornfield. Jazz all day all night, sit in if you like and play some tunes. Little amplification however. The area by the stage has been cleared already and a new heart shaped fire pit has been built. I have spoken with almost all the bands, and a new solidified line up is out: Friday 6:00 Northern Shovelers 7:15 Jeff Curtis 8:00 Def Time 10:00 The Daily Supplement 12:00 Planet 22 4:20 Byzantine Empire 6:00 Open Jams Saturday 2:00 Spotus 4:20 Doodis 6:30 TBA 7:00 Alien Red 10:00 Nightcrawlers 12:00 Alchemy 2:00 Dr. Naqleus 6:00 Luv Clam Anyone else have any ideas for the party or would like to help set things up post here with an email addy and I can get in touch with you. Can't wait to see you all there! Chris

did you get my email chris? if not, it's tom.koester@gmail.com
I wanted to get a chance to talk about some things. I'm most likely headed out tomorrow to do some more clean-up work around the stage. Drop me a line.

If I've learned one thing it is the people at Chuck's are party people, they are there to rock, not to feed some half pint rockstar's egomania. Don't try and be a Kingpin

precisely joe, presicely the point i was trying to make. your ex[glow=red,2,300]change[/glow] of words rings loud and clear. chuck's is about music, people, and celebration. period. it is not about memorandums, agendas, and scheduling conflicts. bands are created at chuck's. if all the participants are there to [glow=red,2,300]create[/glow] and [glow=red,2,300]come together for a grand design [/glow], then the event will truely be what it was intended to be...a celebration of harvest...a cultivation of shared music and experiences.

So, Rocco, why don't you come up to chuck's this year? We've got others flying in. Sure could use a good whiskey drinking partner!
Tom, i did not recieve your email. I talked to Dave Barr today however. I'll email you with my number.
Joe, I will talk to you about the hydrocelator this weekend, be on the look out for a new negative power coupling and a few other parts....
Does anyone know where we can get a snake for the sound board? I could buy one if need be, but I think it would be quite beneficial to get one in any case. Got a snake mang?
P.S. This Chuck's will be recorded digitally in it's entirety this year! Courtesy of Degicank Records of course! -Chris
