This is a big year for our good friend Chuck and his farm folks!
If you haven't heard already, Chuck is running for Centre County Commissioner in 2007. In order to raise money for his campaign, Chuck is having a series of one night music festivals at his farm this summer!
Each music festival will have three bands on the bill, and will be held on or before the full moon of every month. Tickets for each festival will be $10 at the gate or you will be able to purchase tickets in advance. More info on how to purchase tickets in advance in the near future.
The series of festivals will lead up to, of course, Chuck's annual free festival, The Sunflower Farm Harvest Festival, which will be held on October 6,7, and 8th!
The first Chuck's Farm Mini-Fest will be held on May 6th with The Daily Supplement, Spotus, and Alien Red! Can't wait to see you all there!
Chuck's Farm Music Festival Dates:
May 6th- Spotus, Alien Red, The Daily Supplement
June 24th- TBA
July 22nd- TBA
August 26th- TBA
September 23rd- TBA
October 6th,7th, and 8th- Harvest Festival! TBA

If you are in a band that would like to play at one of these festivals, email me at with the name of your band and what date you are interested in playing. We are looking for three bands on a bill, and would like these bands to work well together. One of the dates will be a rave, so if you produce electronic music or know of people who produce electronic music contact me with that info as well!
If you would like to contribute in ANY way to any of these fests, email me about that as well. Anyone who would like to help with sound, lights or clean-up crew would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks!
Chris

The dates for the fundraisers at Chuck's Farm are not definite yet, other than the one on May 6th, but the other ones tentatively are set for June 10, July 8 (may be changed to Arts Fest weekend), August 5, and September 9. Check with Friends to Elect Chuck, meeting weekly Mondays at 8pm at Jamaica Junction Caribbean Cuisine, 120 E. Beaver Ave., or email friendstoelectchuck@yahoo.com.

I spoke with Chuck about those dates last week. No problem if they change, but as far as booking bands goes, they should be locked down very soon. All of those dates aren't very far off and people start planning thier summer now...especially bands. Most bands try to do all their booking at least three months in advance.
I won't be able to make any of those meetings on Mondays as I have to work until late in the evening very Monday...everyday for that matter.
If you would like to contact me to discuss planning for these festivals, you can email me at kelleher@degicank.com or call me at (215) 292-0608.
Thanks for the heads up Karen, hopefully I will be hearing from you or Chuck soon so we can solidify these dates.

I would not recommend having a festival on Arts Fest Weekend. Yes, there are a lot of people in town, but those people are in town for a reason, Arts Fest. Many alumni make plans to meet up with friends and visit State College, but my guess on the chances those same people are going to drive 45 minutes outside of State College when they just got there would be slim.
I just think there is already WAY too much going on that weekend.

I agree about Arts Fest weekend, but some people at the last meeting suggested it. Chuck now thinks it's too far from the full moon, as well as not a good idea because of conflicts.

So friend and me have generated a great plan to raise more money for Chuck.
We have been planning this Olympic games of the sorts with various games, challenges, activities and fun...the only problem was, we didn't have a place to do it...SO!
We thought about having it at Chucks Mini-Fest...we were going to have like a registration fee...and maybe some prizes...and all the money will go to Chucks CC Campaign...
Just a thought though…let me know if you approve or disapprove…

I will forward this idea on to chuck the next time I see him. Sounds like a good idea though.

Register.com hijacked www.chucksfarm.com!!! The domain expired and they won't give it up to re-register it with another company! I didn't realize it at the time, but Register.com charges you $50 a year for domain fowarding if you do not, pay that they put a banner for thier site on your page! They also want me to renew the domain for $30 a month through them! So, after careful consideration, www.chucksfarm.org was purchased, and will now be used for these next two years. Within the next 24 hours, www.chucksfarm.org should be up, but for now go to chucks.degivisuals.com for all of your Chuck's Farm Campaign Fest updates! See you all on June 10th!!!!!

The Daily Supplement is not playing all the Chuck's Mini-fests...but they are billed for a slot in this June and July fests.
Alchemy is playing the time slot they requested.
