Well... Why don't you get an all night venue or a venue that can have alkeyhall after hours. A bar would be a horrible idea for such activity. a social club, warehouse, restuarant with BYOB etc would be good ideas. Good luck with the planning and may you find out soon I here that there's this party elsewhere that evening...

for the punk rock opera we'd be performing the first act, which lasts about 45min tops, and it would be just a stage performance, eventually it will be a full out production with dancers, actors, singers, lights, costums and all that....this will be our first showing of the music to the public ear, the debut so to speak. is p22 playing?

Isn't the other band Bear Is Driving, or are they not going to make it?
I'm confused about one thing, Joe: on the front page (www.degicank.com) under the comments section you said that as of 11/25 the warehouse is confirmed, but then a day or two ago in this discussion you said you weren't sure and that Vorcan would announce the venue soon. Just wondering what's up with that. We put the address of the warehouse on our show calendar so we don't want to be leading anyone astray.
That schedule looks good, by the way. Just sayin'

Vorcan assures me that the warehouse is going to happen, I'm waiting for final word. Bear is Driving is coming with a slightly different line up under the moniker Hamburger Kings. Sorry about messing up your calender again! I want to tell you not to worry, but of course I am very worried...
I just want to hear ICBM live. That is my goal.
I don't know if you know Vorcan, but they are similar to cornstarch mixed with water, calm movements make them liquid, harsh/abrupt movements make them sticky...Non-Newtonion solids they call it. As soon as they give the word it will be posted here.
As far as the line up for the underground venue, based on the above schedule (Punk opera starts at 8:30), I think TVWB should play 2nd to last or 3rd to last. Do you like those options? or...What spot would you prefer...
One Line up possibility: -Punk Rock opera -Hambergers -Mystery Band -Planet 22 -The Victor Williams Band -The Daily Supplement
Bands, this is just an idea and totally flexible, note here if you want to see something different, or email me at degicank@gmail.com if you want me to apear to change my mind for no reason.
Take care, Joe

Did you ever work a big glob cornstarch-water into a ball, hot potato style, and then toss it to an unsuspecting person? They're like "finally, some play-doh," but then about a second later they have to go change clothes.
Yeah, me neither.
But moving on, either of those slots is good for us... maybe the earlier one is slightly better since then we can finish playing and start drinking heavily sooner.
I was wondering if there will be any sort of projector/screen setup there too. We sometimes like to throw on dvds with the volume muted during our set so if anyone absolutely hates us they can at least be distracted a bit... no big deal if there won't be one but it seems like this is the sort of event that would hook that up.

We'll have to see what we can rustle up as far as a projector and lights. Steve mentioned Dave B. a few post back. If that guy throws down you will be amazed by lights. I've got a laser, smoke machine and slide progector if you want to go old school slides. I think the warehouse might have some lights(PLEASE VORCAN POST!), it will probably be like a potluck for equipment, everyone bring your favorite light.
take care, JOe

I left my phone at home and I am out at Jack's. Please give Caleb a call to see if he "sealed the deal".

Whichever band's singer has the highest voice should cover Rush's "Fly By Night" at the show. Topical humor.

or maybe it would make a good jumping-off point for the collaborative 4am jam session

Thanks Oo!
Maybe we should have a special performance with a member from each band together...
Any volunteers?
