Yea! I talked to Chuck, and is planning on hosting his (almost) annual harvest festival Sept 23 - 25, 2011.
Let's get our ducks in a row and organize lots of help before, during, and after the festival, so Chuck can sit back, relax, and want to host in the years to come.
Blessed Be

Damn, my bad!
I just looked at my calendar, and realized that Sept 23 - 25 can't possibly work - I made a big mistake!
Chuck always schedules the Harvest Fest for the Full Moon (for all us lunatics to groove to) and the Full Moon is Sept 12.
That means that the Harvest Fest has to be Sept 9 - 11.
Now that I have that duck set, let's get the rest lined up behind him!
Blessed Be

Boy Howdy!
It sure looks like we are starting to put together a crew for Chuckstock set up/clean up!
As you may know, my own main area of focus is manifesting the Rainbow Sinkhole Kitchen.

I expect we will start communicating and coordinating over the Summer as we get closer to Chuckstock.

I'll be out of town the third weekend of June, but my main concern is the kitchen.
The kitchen fireplace is avaliable for that cookout, and there is a bit of gear (which will certainly need to be cleaned) avaliable to cook with. If you guys do use the kitchen, some feedback on the condition of the space would be appreciated.
I know I will probably need to find something to build a new set of tops for the tables out of - I don't think the indoor doors I used have held up to the adverse outdoor environment very well. ;-)

The frames for the two tables in the kitchen should still be there, so if you feel up to cutting to shape and screwing/nailing down new table tops (either on top of the doors already there, or in place) then go for it!
I'm short vacation time this year, and I won't be able to take a half or full day off Friday, so the other huge thing that would be really helpful for someone to do, either shortly before or the week of Chuckstock, is running the water line down from the house to the kitchen sinkhole and making sure it doesn't leak. That little chore takes a couple of hours for me, and I won't have that time to spend this year.
I will also need a bunch of hard-wood firewood to run the kitchen, and while I expect I will bring some, I will need more. Other firewood for the other, recreational, fire would also be good.
I expect now that I will get out to Chucks around 5:30 or 6 pm Friday evening. I still plan on cooking Friday night - veggie and rice stir fry - as well as various and sundry meats including but not limited to bacon, sausage, and pork. I've gotta see what I can get between now and then. ;-)
Blessed Be

Hello Chuck's Farmians!!
Yes indeed, Sept 9-11, 2011! There is A LOT to do.
Right now we urgently need:
donations of caution tape, orange cones or flags, rope, straw bales, fencing, or even glow sticks that can be tied to rope/fencing.
Wood for building projects - for stage repair, for outhouse repair, for kitchen repair, for lots of stuff!
PVC pipe
Tarps
Toilet seats for the outhouses (not sure how many)
Firewood - any kind, any time.
Please leave your contact info or get in touch w/ me here or at deahsella@gmail.com.
