I remember this......
"Planet 22 improves the boy's health, but other dangers lurk, from cute little rodents that look like a cross between E.T. and frogs, to warrior-like creatures that live under the planet's surface..."
This happend just last week, didn't it?

How about offering free trips to jazz fest for the band first? How much do you guys think it'll cost to drive to NO and back over the coarse of the week? Joe, you've done this trip three times before, how much did it cost you on average? now add 1/5 of that to the total (assuming that planet 22 will be paying for the free trip) and that is how much money you need for the trip.
Now what if calebs bus decides to have a $1200 problem? would caleb be responsible for that exspense? it's his vehicle but it's your band that made him take the vehicle. not trying to start shit just trying to help you guys see the big picture.

Grey Hound is 99$ roundtrip. I think that is what I'm doing, Relix is covering that free trip for a fan.

New Orleans is 1200 miles, $0.33/mile was the old rate for gas and expenses(this includes breakdowns) With the price of gas up over $0.33 a gal since last summer, the appropriate rate is now over $0.50/mile
2400 miles round trip x $0.50 = $1200
2400miles/10 mpg(being optomistic here) = 240 gal of gas
240 gal/gas x $1.60 = 384 or aprox $400
$1200 - $400 leaves $800 in calebs pocket to pay for insurance, routine maintenance, and breakdowns
If we use the $0.33 the cost is $800(to the band) - $400 for gas, leaving $400 for caleb to fix/maintain the bus
Either way if the bus cost $1200 to fix, we will be stuck in northern LA
Expenses will also include food and hotel for some of the time spent in N.O.
Therefor P22 must make on the order of $1500, just to come home with $0 in our pockets.
As we have discussed within the band, breaking even is acceptable, but not really. We need to be making additional $ to cover equipment, recording costs, travel for practice costs, press kit expenses, etc...
I will agree to book the N.O. tour when i see a business plan that shows how we will make $2000. This must be backed up with signed contracts.
I support the $99 bus option, this means that for $500 all of P22 will be transported to and from N.O., saving us $300-$700 in expenses (depending on the .33 or.50 rate for using the bus)
This could bring the needed income down to under $1300. This may still be impossible, but it is definitely more likely than making $2000.

I'm not sure if you've been to New Orleans son. We'll be sleeping on the sidewalk out front of the bar, if we sleep. Hotel is waste of time, sleep when your dead or in PA.

Doesn't sleeping in New Orleans cause people to fist fight in bed?
