www.esnips.com/web/Banjo-Jones-and-Bear-Bones12/31/6 here is the last round of new ones for demos, the last bunch are only bass so you have to use a lot of imagination... UFW Dmaj Dmin| GA#C chords than single notes | Dmaj Dmin| GA# back and forth| Dmaj Dmin | GA#G C#/D# | D F(over dmin) |outro GA#CD Wyrd B i dont know chord (BDFA) back and forth like Bmaj Bmin middle part: G B| repeat begining, start banjo ragae strum then intense at end 01 A 04 E xmassongintr than B 05 5/4 Adim bridge 6/8 E D back to Adim5/4 than Amaj 4/4 back to head 06 A#maj fast 6/8 middle percussion part 07 Bmaj 7/4 middle Thajam:B quick(Dmaj C#min) B long B jam undifinemajor or minor, 7/4 B7 Bmin7 back to thajam 08 3/4 Amaj I don't know name of chord: (EGAB) back and forth 09 D drone jam with a little london bridge thrown in 10 C intro than F jam 11 A PBUH jam ********************* from earlier rounds: Demo's nic? jam in G Jam in A 06 DCGos123s.mp3: this one i can imagine with a bass and banjo plucking away. Slow tempo and this could even lend itself to a 'theme' or a 'dawn/end of night theme' toward the end of the album. 09 05 beat jam.wma: Common, this is awesome!!! It has the right kind of meandering vibe and longwindedness. Now, im trying to imagine it with banjo and bass, less keyboard...that makes it hard. But i think the slow tempo, the drunken slowness of it...this kind of vibe will go well in many of the songs. I especially like that it morphs into a regae beat toward the middle. pat_panang_lands_on_planet_vorcan.mp3. my favorite is 10 06 Track 6.wma sound good, 1-5 defintly have potential. i especially liked 3 (C>Gm), and 5 (D>Am)... then 5 had the crazy jam section in there, which was kinda reminiscent of parts of the octagon muffin jam. that sort of tangent could be recurring . Last minute addition: Something about G+Bb over DEF like kinda in Janes’ Addiction “trip away” breakdown part ‘take my eyes, donot wonder why…” also this is found in darkstar and shineonyoucrazydiamond. I’d like to compress it to a 2 against 3 type of thing, I’ll show you what I mean more in round 3... ***

wyrd.wma: this one sounds good, although I really doubt Nic will want to play banjo this fast and chaotic unless we get him MAD schwilled!!! Just kidding anyway, i get the gist of what you are shooting for on this one. I like the essential chords and stuff. I would think the final product willl be slower?
universalfliperswildcard: i seem to know this one...quite well. Nic is pretty excellent at memorizing changes and songs, so if he likes this one, it will come out epic since i think Caleb and Josh will know this one pretty naturally. The interesting thing here is to imagine a duet between guitar and banjo for the 'lead'?
01 01 Track 1.wma: This kind of simple concept could be the natural jumping-off point for some epic grooves. Perhaps its just easier for me to imagine this kind of track since it has bass-sound in it..but i think epic stuff could grow from a starting point such as this one, esp in a preparing-for-the-studio-practice situation.
You are right, the rest of them are harder to imagine due to the fact that they are bass tracks. These may be more helpful to the folks who play instruments rather than people like me who just like music?

Wow, however, Nic, pay special attention to 07 07, that one is a classic that could really shine if rendered in studio.

You should shave your entire body and video tape your dialuoge naked. That would be ballsy (no pun intended) and hilarious. Not as funny as when you got your underwear stuck on that fence and flashed your nutz to everyone ... now that's classic

Word!
I already did a new demo of Wyrd, I'm going to start making kets: smallest segment of each song, then we can figure out the arrangement like a puzzle.
Yo THEMAN, get me that new single for winter sampler, Crazy Dave and the Board are hassleing me about the late release. ?#@&*!!

hey fellers, i just got back in the swing of things at work, and met with the big boss lady today. i am working the weekend of the 27th for sure...so sorry , but we'll have to reschedule. its kinda tricky for me at this point... i was off for most of november and december with a few work days here and there... so now i have to make some cheese again... its like the old saying "whats the difference between a pizza and a banjo player?"
a pizza can feed a family of 4. i dont have a family of 4, but i stills needs a-feedin'... so , i gotta take programs at the park when they arise, and they arose today.
i havent gotten around to the demos yet either, but thats on my to-do list...
later, nic

I suggest you turn Mr Kelleher over onto his belly and lay down a percussion track slapping his bare ass in polyrythmic chaos. Make nic could play the banjo while dancing a jig around this scene. It would make a good YouTube video

Hey Nicy-poo Well since Joe hasnt said for sure that the final weekend would be the one for him eaither, we can still consider the weekend of the 19th, or therefore the weekend of February 3, eh? Are either of these ruled out for you, or will we need to stay tuned?
Josh Gwinn and I seem to be the most flexible, aka weekend warriors. Caleb is probably on the exact same page as Joe/Nic, although my impression is that he could simply ask off in advance if he is given a solid date.
Nic are you planning on coming up this Saturday for the super-famous CAVEMAN party at the Fire? Word on the street is that they are recording a new CD that night, and it is sure to be a 'par-tay'. If possible maybe we could squeeze in some 3-way Octosidedness at my place...
Incidentally Royce is doing several takes on the narration, one is on Youtube, use your imagination to find it...
