I have been out of town all week, but imagen my delight to see an actual enviro-political debate on this board.
James, what the hell are you yelling about. I don't see how the gores attack on the 1st amnedment has anything to do with the validity of global warming. Do yourself a favor and don't get stuck in the train of thought that "if someone was ever wrong, they are always wrong". even a broken clock is right twice a day.
and I know it is a bit odd that this message is coming from a politician, but hell it put people's asses in the seats, academia has been talking about a cataclysmic human-induced global climate change for years and very few people have actually listened. And say what you will about the politics of academic life, but I have studied under some of the most accredited individuals in this field (hell they even made up an award last year to give to one of my former professors). and these guys are honest people, don't forget these are people that have stuck the idea of finding answers to complicated questions for their entire lives. alot of us can't even stick with finding answers to simple questions for 6 months.
I am not an overly gulible person and I beleive changes must be made in this respect or we are all f***ed. don't forget the biggest mistake the hippies ever made was coining the term "save the planet", the planet will be just fine. A better term would be "save the human race".
The one thing I was a bit disappointed in, was I didn't see anwhere in this descussion in which global ocean currents where mentioned. I believe before we have to worry about the sea rising you have to worry about the currents shifting. this is why the europeans are becoming extremely proactive in the environmetal debate. ( England is at the same latitude as the hudson bay. campare the population densities of the to areas and then think about what will happen when the gulf stream stops).

Tiny engine boosts nanotech hopes Prototypes of microscopic engines that could power molecular machines have been brewed up in a Scottish laboratory. Scientists at the University of Edinburgh have created a tiny engine powered by light that can be made to sort molecules. The device may one day find a role in nano-scale machines. It emerged from research into similar tiny machines in nature that power well known processes such as photosynthesis. For full article check out BBC news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/6320781.stm

check out this cool Image comparing modern human skull (left) to that of Homo Floresiensis (right). I don't know I thought it was preatty cool. The discovery of this species of hominiod is probably one of the most over-looked huge discovery in the past twenty years.

Is there an industry standard for fuel cell construction? If this machines applications are going to include portability, we have to make sure the cells we charge are interchangable with other fuel cell driven apparatuses.
If we learn anything form that antisemite Ford, it should be the advantage of interchangable parts.

From the scraps of Information I have heard on the season of Jesus's Birth, it was most definately Spring. Infact it is even stated right in the bible, and repeated at every manger scene you have ever heard " And the shepards tend their floks by night". During the winter sheep are kept in pasture during the night. the only time when sheep roam all day is when the ewes are preparing to birth, ie. The Spring.
When I asked may father about this, he replied with a more profound question. "Does it matter exactly when Jesus was Born, or simply that he was born"?
From what I can gather the shift to the winter came during Constantines Reign, A Pagan in Christians Clothing. Probably around the same time the Christain sabath was moved from Saturday to Sunday. This is why a lot of Northern European Pagan Practices have made it in the Christian Christmas Tradition. 12 Days of Christmas, Yule Logs, Wrethes. And of course the Christmas Tree, which by the way is a concept not widely practiced in the U.S. pre WWI

Hey vegas,
As you know I love your sketches of monsters (for the lack of a more oppropriate name) and a bunch have made it into the Degicank headers. I was curious if you could get me a few more that we could incorperate into future Degicank headers. ;D

DegiJames,
there is a difference between someone whom fears for his own saftey (deep throat in this case), and someone who nows that alot of these leftest treehugging sites don't hold water. why don't you copy and qpaste the article about how KFC breeds chickens without feet and beaks. Remember that stellar debunked theory.

You know, I like these long educational threads, and I do agree that it is important that we as American citizens, learn about the interaction between our country and all other countries. However it seems that whom ever is posting these long threads, and I know there are many of you, neglect to site where this information comes form.
To put it simply Who do I know your not blowing smoke up my ass.
9 out of 10 times these long posts have no name attached to them so ethos can't even be used to place validity on these topics.
And finally since I am assuming the old cut and paste technique is used on the majority of the long posts. They are not the posters own words and you are stealing them from someone else by not documenting the rightful author and owner of these intellectual porperties.
AKA: PLAGIARISM
this makes you a dirty theif and why do I wnat to read something posted be a dirty theif?

Strike me from the record, and I shall strike from this Earth.
You do not have the right to ever question my validity or integrity. My living condition only proves that men and women can coinhabit, I am happier with my living condition now then I was when I live by myself. I know what's best for me, just as vegas knows whats best for him and the same holds true for priar.
I was just trying to remind you that you are only human, not the omnipitant being you some times precieve yourself as. Don't forget James let he who is without sin throw the first stone. Sinners like you shouldn't live in class churches.

George Bush announced yesterday that he broke up a plot to destroy the Broklyn Bridge. He actually chased down the terrorist himself, caught the evil doer with a lasso while riding his dog Barney. The President then exclaimed, hands on hips and chest puffed out, "Gotch Ya"
Man are we lucky that our President is a Supper Hero
