Someone needs to add Vortman, James and KellyHer as choices. Other good choices would be KRUSTY. For the record, I will not accept the role if elected because the Sith Cat says no.

Is it still dirty at Chucks? If so, I would gladly come and clean up bottles.
I live in Philly but would make the trip in a heartbeat if it will keep santa claws happy.
Let me know: unoclay@hotmail.com (subject line=CHUCKS FARM)

Hey there, give us some updates on the cleanup....is everything looking good? Things looked 'pretty good' when I left at 3 PM, but not 'totally clean' (esp near the stage). If needs be, I can probably return to the farm next weekend to take care of any remaining business.

Word to Nur. I personally cant stay all day on Sunday so i plan to put in my best efforts on Saturday.
The biggest help now would be for someone to locate a truck we can use for hauling the recycleables to Rebersburg.

Ha ha i got someone to take a purity pledge thats thweeet
i think it will work out. The mess will not become intense until late Friday night, at which time, many of us will become messy as well. Thus just having a concept of clean-up in place is most important. Please remind me that i committed to help with this if you dont see me doing it. I have a funny memory, funny in the sense that it likes to hide.

Ok i am definitely not being an MC, thanks for the vote of confidence but the sith cat (ask me later) will not permit such behavior. Chris Waerner and Lou are good at MCing but Lou will not be in any shape to do it, do NOT offer him the job unless you want it to be a bit insane (perhaps this would be appropriate). I guarentee he will call us "hippies". Waerner is responsible and has a very audible voice. He is the best candidate so far if we are talking about a legit announcer. Krusty is naturally funny as well, as is DrCank. So any of those choices would be good. Caleher you would be good at it too as the current organizer of many items.
Perhaps someone should make a few laminated cards of information for a/the MC to read (i.e. recyclables, trash, etc) and have them by the stage?
Anyway, back to the trash thing....I will be arriving 10-12 PM on Friday (work and drive from Philly) so i cannot help with setup. I think the most important factor is to #1 have locations clearly marked for trash drop-off (big signs), and #2, have people aware that they should separate trash and recycleables (i.e. reminded at the gate). I will gladly do gate duty for a little while if necessary once i get there, so long as i can drink my Jolly Scot while doing so.
On Saturday, i will walk around and encourage recycling by punching Lou in the face. This is the universal language code for "Cans and bottles in one bag, dirty tampons in another"
But seriously i will walk around and collect/encourage. Also will make signs if still necessary. If i can get use of a truck or something, I will also drive recyclables into Rebersburg, and will pay the gas to do it.
So far, Steve F and myself will not be there in advance of show. Who can commit to being there early enough to identify recycling/trash locations and set up signs? We need commitments with names people. Otherwise we will all think someone else is taking care of it.
Clay's Purity Pledge: I will bring 30 trash bags, gloves for myself, and markers with which to make signs. I will verbally encourage people to recycle. I will go around and pick up a bunch of dirty recycleables and put them into bags. I will pull the bags over to the drop location. I will drive someone's truck to Rebersburg and deposit recycles at the spot. I will put gas into the truck.
Who else will take the pledge

Steve i am with you on this one. We should simply make a plan. How about we start with the basics: each of us bring a box of garbage bags (heavy duty or the equivalent)? And perhaps get special colors/different colors for recylables.
We should also make a spot where bags of recycleables can be collected. This may have to wait until we get to the farm. Perhaps making signs to note the area would be helpful.
Chris Kally-her and all others who help do the setup should be involved in decisions as to the "where" recycleables should be dropped off.
So: #1 We bring bags #2 We identify a spot for recyclables to be collected (separate spot for trash) #3 We make sign(s) to identify the spot (cardboard boxes and markers will make signs) #4 We spend time each day notifying people where to put their recycleables #5 We gather a group of folks each night/day to go around and gather the trash into these spots. Special focus on the stage area throughout the night.
The bigger idea would be to have 'recycleables only' barrels near the concert area b/c this tends to be the messiest spot once everyone gets their drink-on. Unfortuntately i dont know how to make this happen, i dont have barrels? Any ideas?

I put in a huge vote for the BE to play. Just last night i was riding with a taxicab driver and he heard me talking about the BE on my cellphone, and when i hung up he said (in a halting, soviet-bloc type accent), "What do you say aboiut the Bizantine Empire?" I told him it was a super famous rock band that I'm into, and he got excited and explained that he is from Georgia (the country) and that the Byzantine Empire was a part of history that he finds very interesting.
It was a sign, i tell you. Then he talked my ear off regarding how great Freddy Mercury was.

Big ups for the 'complete dark' idea during the planet set. Unless you guys are planning on getting highlights or facials, its probably not important for us to see you. ;'] ha ha just kidding you're all super cute but you know Caleb is the 'babe-magnet' member of your crew, appropriate role for a guitarist.
Unfortunately i just realized that this will mean my new 3chip camcorder will have a hard time seeing you during the show. But that is ok because as Lou says, "I will probably be schpongled"

Hey there,
The Tangents are broken up from what i hear, but perhaps you are discussing Brenden and Matt's new project? I have their #s if anyone needs to contact them.
Also, radly Hinton called me last night lookign for info on how to get a slot for the Wissahickon Chicken Shack. I gave him Kelly-her's number, although i dont know if the schedule will not permit more music. They are probably better suited to daytime/AM/early evening schedule due to the nature of music (bluegrass/country/singin) but Brad seemed enthused to play any slot, any time. I also have his # if you need it.
This is interesting to see how things 'work' in the inner sanctum of cankdom. As i was telling DrCank a few months ago, operations of uno-sort tend to be a 1 or 2 man organizing commitee, mainly because it is easier for one or two people to agree quickly than to have "true democracy" (which is a fiction anyway).
In any case it will all be fine i bethca! Once the schedule is situated, we just need to ensure all bands hear the same messages about their timeslot, and if anyone has been CUT, they need to be notified pre-farm, just to ensure no bad stressies for people like YOU.
Personally, I promise to smile and kiss babies no matter what happens

BTW, i have a few photos and videos but i dont have a handy way to get them from my phone (bluetooth) onto the computer. Hopefully within a few weeks i will be able to send them.
I hope the videos shot with your (Joe) camera came out well. I did my best to hold it steady and zoom in on the sexiest members of the band. Brendon helped a bit as well. Lou wanted to help but i am a firm believer in 'everyone has their own little way to contribute', and his was to be schwilled and not film. He may be in some of the shots however.

Hooray for you guys = technologically advanced. I am still trying to find people who have the tapes of Double Deuce (aka uno birthday #2). That party took place in or around 1999 so i am a bit behind as you can see.
It was the sickness. I am all the way up in toronto canada, and the sonorous sounds of tDS and p22 are still resonating in my head.

I posted this over at the guestbook site Joe establised, but b/c its actually something i thought might be worth "saying", i am cross-posting it to this board.
Hey there, I was listening to a phenomenal show tonight, at least several sections of it were very good, namely, the opening section. It was the Avant Garde performance via radio broadcast. The inspiring thing about this show was the early section in which the band did some very tempered, Miles-Davisish stuff, gradually segueing into some songs. I think the most important thing to do would be to take the TIME to pass through vibes and grooves, rather than concentrating on a tight setlist. Worrying about timelines is only going to make the performance sound stilted, which is what i kind of worry about when i see such an extensive setlist on the table. Joe, if i had anythign to offer, it might be to make sure there is a coherent setlist suggestion on the table, but not to necessarily adhere to it. Plus have some talk with the captain before the show perhaps....I think more fans/potential converts will be most pleased with an organic-sounding performance of texture and space....or maybe im just being selfish. Also, I vote for sooperbootiejam and/or bootiedoya to be on the setlist along with straightjacket teases, something like: bootiedoya-->straightjacket/a nasty muffinjugs-->superbootie
I personally think P22 should get a slot from 11PM through 5 AM because you/they have the greatest body and breadth of work, not to mention the most interesting approach. I am sorry to see only a 2 hour slot alotted for the best band to play the fest, but its all good, im sure the captain and i can go get lost in a field later on. And no matter what, at harvest fest you guys are SATURDAY from 12->4 AM for sure. Chris make it happen, end of story.
As far as comments regarding tDS playing every chucks mini-fest, well, why the hell not? Chris is doing a lot of organizing to get this stuff flowing, and therefore deserves to have tDS play if he so chooses. Same with P22. Haters need to get some edumacatin.
